Help spend my money :-)

Hi all,

Been a while, and I need me a new light but haven’t been keeping up to date with current trends… My last purchase was my Fenix TK75, and when I bought it, 2900 lumens was unheard of  Now the LD75C is pumping out 4200? WOW…

Anyways I need a new Single 18650 light… would that be a mini?? Not sure… I even bought one from a member here back a couple years ago and I love it…

Anyone building cool lights on this site these days? Or what’s the best single 18650 battery light available today?? Willing to go $100+

Thanks all!!!

Hey there!

Emisar D4V2. Single 18650, and you get more than 2900 lumens. :smiling_imp: It’s a reference light: fantastic build quality and fantastic UI.

I likey…

So thinking the neutral white… but torn between 4000 and 5000K?? I like the less blue… so I’d want 5k right?

I’m a bit hesitant with only running unprotected cells… as I use these on-board a boat offshore and just one added danger I typically avoid. I’ll keep this on shore.

Has the thinking changed regarding unprotected safety?

How long does it take to arrive? Ballpark.

5000K is probably as neutral as neutral white can be I think. 4000K is definitely a bit on the warmer side (of neutral white). The Emisar only accepts unprotected cells; a protected cell simply won’t fit. This means using unprotected cells is the norm here. I think the majority of folks here, at least the ones who post regularly, only use unprotected cells.
You really need to know what the protection circuit does; if you treat lithium ion with respect it should definitely be ok. I use both protected and unprotected cells.

Depends on where you are, but ballpark figure would be three weeks. If you’re in the USA, there is also Mountain Electronics, also an excellent vendor.

I’m in North Carolina and I’ve been waiting for my Fireflies E07 since January 26th. Thanks. I’ll find Mountain and check it out there.

The Fireflies lights are quite popular here as well, but there have definitely been some QC issues as well. Emisar has pretty much an impeccable reputation.

Cheers. :sunglasses:

I have a Fireflies E07 that I got from Bangoods USA warehouse and in came in 5 days. Thanks again.

The other thing to consider is that in many cases, the protective features have migrated into the flashlight, and into the charger. Many flashlights have thermal and undervoltage (low voltage) protection. Most flashlights with built-in charging have relatively conservative charging rates and over- and undervoltage protection.
