Hello from New York (soon to be New Jersey) everyone!!
Have been reading posts here for a few weeks now after stumbling here for 18650 reviews. Thanks to the wealth of knowledge here and reviews from HJK, old and the others I now know I will be safe using flashlights that wont become pipe bombs in my hand. Ordered 4 Panasonic 3100mah cells with the intellicharge i4 charger!
In terms of lights so far i have……none. Two coming in the mail though!

I think you can't go wrong with XinTD C8 NW, which offers a nice combination of flood & throw. After that you kind of know what you need and can start growing your collection to more throwy or floody lights. (The Meritline zoomie you bought is a good flood light, so maybe you should start looking throwers next..)
There are so many lights that every newb should own. If I had to recommend one brand, it would be start with Solarforce. But I am also partial to Balder and Shadow and quite a few others. Take your time and look around first, I'm sure you will find many that you just have to have.
You even get to choose your tint and mode selection!
The ONLY thing that I’ve found on this light that they could easily improve, is a parallel lanyard hole, so it could tailstand with lanyard installed. But most lights seem have this problem.
It sure sounds like you are putting some time into your "homework" for a lack of a better word and I cannot fault your selection of either batteries nor charger as I own those exact brands and models and I think you will be satisfied with their performance for sure.
Regarding the flashlights... Ouch that is tough. Most of my lights lean towards throw so any suggestions I make are likely to be throwers exception being headlamps where a uniform neutral white or warm white is my preference.
For a good thrower I'd suggest the Jacob A60 from DX (there are a plethora of threads on that one) as I am soo in love with it that I now own 4... Ooops! ;-) (Yes my wife thinks I am a lost case by now) But for 15 $ I never imagined that we would be able to get that kind of performance!
For a good alround light/EDC light I like Zoomies of which you have ordered one already but there is a more pocketable one that is called Sipik SK68 which is great and cheap (7 $ - 12$ depending on source, do a search and you will have even more threads than the Jacob. I just like the versatility of them and that is that.
For a good flood light any old P60 host with the now legendary manafont xml drop-in on which you will find many threads and review of here is a good chloice if you ask me. And if you want to put it in a host that will feel like it costs four times as much as you paid then you should pay heed to what BetweenRides said earlier in this thread and go for a Solarforce. I've gifted mine away since people are endeared with them so I haven't actually got one right now but make do with cheap hosts but still I'm good.
Anyway you look at it I hope you have some fun here, I know I do ;-)
So when you say a P60 host you mean something like the solarforce L2m or n? I’m browsing the solarforce website now for new products… I guess you can get whatever drop ins you’d like and build your own.
I like it.
Time to search for more throwers. I feel like I will like them more.
