Hello everyone!
Been stalking here a while, thought I would finally introduce myself.
Located in Melbourne, Australia, I began this hobby many years ago when DC ballast HIDs were becoming cheap and common.
I started out installing in cars (boring), then moved on to modifying commercially available handheld 12 spot lights with HID and later on UHP lamps.
First commercial HID flashlight I bought was the G&P Scorpion (Still sitting in my shed somewhere waiting it's 2nd 18650 re-cell.)
Now I am more into LED flashlights and various lithium storage technologies, as the technology is coming along so quickly. Never seems to amaze me how far you can push some of the Cree chips.
Current [incomplete] projects:
Convoy L6 XHP-35HI mod (Still trying to source a similarly sized smooth reflector)
Convoy L2 XHP-35HI mod (Yes, the XHP-35 seems to be one of my favorites lately...)
Warsun VRS-X98 conversion to XPL-HI and 4 x 26650. (Handheld spotlight with 100mm reflector and USB charger)
(Back Burner) Another LiPo/UHP large handheld. Now that I have the correct type of ballast.
(Yeah... Melted a few UHPs before this with homemade and hacked together ballasts)
