hi all on BLF

newbie here :Sp

i decided to join to gain some much need knowledge after gettin a Courui D01 and shorting the led with the reflector and popping the driver!!!

i couldnt get rid of the horrid burn electronics smell for hours!!!

so if one of you helpful lot could point me in the direction were to post technical questions about drivers and the such like i would be greatly appreciated

i brought a Courui D01 and an hour after it was delivered i screwd the head down and shorted the LED wires and popped the driver

so any help with the selection of a new led/driver partnership would be greatly recieved

also this light is front switched and upon looking i find no front switch drivers listed !!

can you make any driver front switched??

You mean an electronic switch? Try mtnelectronics.com … If you want throw you can go for an XPG2

yes that must be it a elctronic switch

i have read that somewhere in one of the D01 modding threads

Welcome to the forum bones3. Hope you have a great time here.

I'm not sure if the stock driver is any good, but you probably just need to replace one component to get it running again. If you want to explore that, just post close up picture of it. There may be some visible clue as to which component failed.
