Hi all!

Hi everybody!

So I’m a young guy working for a national railway company in the maintenance and renewal dpt in Paris, so I get to work night shifts pretty frequently. I also like to ride my bicycle after my shifts so it’s still dark and cool.
Now I guess I have a pretty typical gear addict career: Started with tools to repair my motorcycle, then got into EDC, pens, DE shaving, guns, watches, knives, hi fidelity audio (think tube amps), photography, woodworking (with a brief moment in guitar making, stopped because lack of space), road bikes, high end shoes (Goodyear welted for example)…. I also have a tendency to try to make things myself to either understand it better or to have something that I REALLY want. My hobby is having hobbies.

Lights, I used to carry a 2014 TN12 along with my Charge Tti and a Chris Reeve Sebbie Large 21 for some time, now I’m down to a Thrunite T1S, Spyderco ladybug in superblue and still the Tti.
Job gave me a Petzl PIXA 1 that I absolutely hate with passion its weak output and short runtime. Only thing it has that’s great is its ruggedness. After being frustrated with that Petzl I finally asked for an upgrade and I got a Led Lenser H7R2. Now I know Led Lensers are not very well liked around here but it’s what we get. Also got a P5R2 for free. Nice thing aboiut those is the total absence of a hotspot in its wide setting, it’s just a nice even circle of light that’s pretty decently bright. USB charging is also a must when you’re surrounded by micro usb chargers.

I’ve started reading this forum when looking for a bike light, which I still haven’t picked yet, and I’ve already bought an Olight S30RII, Convoy C8, Ultrafire C12, Convoy S2, Eagle Eye X6 Jaxman E2, a few Panasonic cells and an VC4. Planning to get the Manker E14 as an EDC and a Skilhunt headlamp but still haven’t decided on what model I want. Pretty much all of the lower end lights in that list I’m going to mod to suit different needs, some will be super high lumen just for show and challenge, others will find their way on my bike for my hrs of night riding (or maybe the BLF Q8).

There you go that’s me :money_mouth_face:
Have a nice one!

Hi and welcome

Thanks for signing up, Gilatabar!

One of the best introductions ever! I especially like this part:

" . . . I also have a tendency to try to make things myself to either understand it better or to have something that I REALLY want. My hobby is having hobbies. . . ."

You made me just realize something about myself and I'm not young.

Welcome to the forum. Hope you have a great time here. :)
