Hi, do you know a good little lamp :)

Hi,
do you know a flashlight (High CRI if possible) which have several settings in very low mode (example : 1 lumen + 5 lumen + 12 lumen) ; at least 2 modes under 12 lumens. The aim is to use it when others people are sleeping.

Don’t care about the size, I prefer that the battery lasts at least a few hours but keychain allowed. No need for huge number of lumens max.

I’m open to every suggestions

The Manker E02 II is a small (AAA/10440) right angle light with several very low modes (especially on AAA).
On the 1st medium mode (AAA: 23 Lumen), it should last you 03:45 (see this 1Lumen review). On the lower modes that should be much longer.

It is a small, right-angle light with a magnet and the ability to use alkaline, nimh and li-ion batteries. If you get the neutral white, the tint is great and it has 95ish CRI. All of it for ~20 dollars. It is the coolest light i own, bar none.

Perhaps a Convoy S2+ with Nichia 519A LED and the 12 mode driver may suit? You can set up the driver for modes with 0.1%, 1%, 10%, 35% and 100% output levels.

0.1, 1, 4.6 lm. At 4.6 you get about 12 days. 4500k high cri. Green flash every 4 seconds on switch to find it in the dark. Wizard C2 Pro Nichia. If you’re in the US you can get it with 3000k.

I mean any little flashlight with anduril 2 is going to have like a dozen modes under 12 lumens if you configure it that way.

A wurkoss ts10 has what, like 20 steps from 0.01 lumens to 12 lumens? More than 20? There’s 150 modes total starting from ~0.01 lumens going up to >1300.

Any light with anduril 2 light is going to have at least a half dozen modes under 12 lumens. But not out of the box, out of the box it’ll skip over them quickly, you have to set it up a certain way

I wouldn’t recommend the Manner E02 ii- it’s a good light but I find the UI a little weird. It’s essentially a two mode light, with moonlight then ‘normal’.

You press and hold to access the last-used moonlight mode (which are indeed low). But if you want slightly brighter/dimmer, you have to press and hold and it cycles through the 6 moonlight/low options. The ‘normal’ modes, accessed by single click, are probably too bright for your use.

How about an Sofirn SP10 Pro? AA/14500 compatible, on NiMH, the moonlight is nice and low, easy to reflow a 519a to customise in whatever CCT you want.

Thanks you all,
So much good ideas to study !
Thanks again

I feel like Convoy is a Led demo brand.
It’s as if, anytime a brand create a new Led, Convoy creates a lamp with it at 15$
(Not that I’m complaining :upside_down_face:)

The 12 mode driver is handy to offer a bit of choice. I normally set mine up on option 10 - that does away with the lowest output level, but the 0.1% output should be really low and suit you.

PS: The Samsung LH351D LED would also be worth looking at. I think you can get that in an S2+ as well.

PPS: If you want something with Anduril 2 the Sofirn SP10 Pro is nice - 14500 or AA battery with the Samsung LH351D LED. It would suit as well and you have many configuration options.

Welcome on BLF @AK-Adventurist !

How do you intend to use the light? You mentioned “lamp,” so I’m guessing not as a flashlight but as an ambient light source. Are you looking 360 degree illumination, or something like 180 degrees or less? Because if it’s the latter, you’re probably going to want an angle light, much like the “˥” shaped ones we see with headlamps. If it’s more about 360, then you can take pretty much any flashlight and put a diffuser over the reflector.

Another consideration is runtime. Do you plan to leave this light on for long periods, or just for a few minutes here/there? If not for long, you can go with smaller form factors, like AA or 18350 cell compatible flashlights. But if you want it on for a half-hour or more and days in a row, then you’ll be wanting 18650 or 21700.

In fact, I was thinking of flashlight and not lamp.
My main point is to use it at home to avoid awaking my (young) kids during night. That’s why I’m looking for only several low modes. (And looking for little beam instead of COB).
Battery is not a real deal because I’m sure any light will last long at a few lumens.

And in the same time, I was thinking about testing an high CRI light, to see, If I like it or not.

For the moment, I’ve already a good bunch of solutions to choose / test but feel free to add some advices or ideas of good lamp

Thanks

OK. I see you’re using lamp and flashlight interchangeably. They are quite different. A lamp is generally a modest output device that illuminates a fixed area. All spill, no focus, unless it’s a torchiere that is pointing to the ceiling. A flashlight is usually a portable projection light with varying degrees of spill. Of course, a flashlight has the added advantage of using a diffuser which will make the beam spread out like a table lamp.

Your intended use can make a dramatic shift in selection. Are you intending to hold it in your hand for some brief periods as you check around the house, or would you like to be able to tail stand it? There are some model mini EDC flashlights you can get with magnetic base, you can stick it anywhere. Lastly, if you’re very good and careful with your things, you might want to spend a little more and get a really nice flashlight you’ll depend upon for many years to come. Otherwise, if you have a habit of damaging and losing things, then might be best to get a cheap light with low modes that you can not worry about losing or damaging. You might want to check out Sofirn, Lumintop, and Wurkkos to see their various offerings.
