I’m going to do lots of projects at school and help others do their projects. If my lamp is good, then when I’m done I’ll show others at school how to do it and move on to my next project. I want to be an electrical engineer or programmer (computer science) so for me this is so much wonderful delightful fun. I like making things with my hands, so I will do projects. I’ll post pictures of it when i’m done if it’s decently functional, thanks for your encouragement : )

Welcome to BLF! We have a very diverse group here, meaning that members have various, sometimes conflicting ideas of what makes a “good” light source. Because of that, we’ve had projects spanning almost the entire range of possibility for light emitting devices. Some time when you get a few hours (days? ) to spend reading, dive into some build threads!

If you ever have a specific question or need help with anything, we’ve got lots of knowledgeable people that are friendly and helpful. But, you might first use the search bar at the top left of the page, because your answer might already be there!

We also have an annual scratch build contest, which runs this time of year (is already in progress for this year). Check out some of those builds too! Here’s the link for that: The 6th Annual BLF / Old Lumens Scratch Made Light Contest Maybe one day you’d be interested in being part of that?
