I usually get unregistered packages quicker than “registered” actually. “Direct line” or “epacket” are still fastest
Well, a couple of leds, some dtp boards and some carclo lenses… fine… But when it comes to $100+ lights, I feel safer having a registered package. Funny, I realise now that it’s been purely psychological, and I have no idea whether there are arguments that a registered package is safer…
I’m the same way, I upgraded shipping on more expensive stuff, but I’ll go for the other options over “registered mail” whenever I can
One thing I’ll avoid is DHL express; really bad experience. Had to pay $50 at the door. $10 was for the actual tax for the lights, $15 administration fee, and hold on to your balls please…………$25 for transportation tax, or something like that. It seems that DHL assumed the express service was like ridiculously expensive (was not mentioned on invoice), so they made me pay that ridiculous amount. Unbelievable. That was an expensive $8 upgrade to have my two lights shipped within 7 days. I’ll wait a couple of weeks next time.
100% arrival of “unregistered shippings” here so far (about a dozen) from BG, GB and AE. Maybe it´s just luck.
Hey Guys, unregistered can be tracked. See my post above.
Not sure with other shipping courier, but I can track NL Post surface mail which is Netherlands unregistered.
Ah thanks! Looks like you’re making me order something unregistered to try this out
Just split up your orders and take losses as part of the cost and like Ron Fopeal says //”Just set it… and forget it ”
If you’re anal and need daily minute by minute updates then forget about china shipping …
For all of us it’s been a” learning to let go” type of experience …Some people aren’t cut out for it
I used to say mentally factor in a 7% overall loss… but after 6 years I’d have to say it’s more like 2 to 3%
Over the last couple of years I have ordered a lot of things from both BG and GB, usually only one or two things at time. I don’t normally pay for registered shipping, and will pay extra for tracking & insurance only if it is more than $50 USD. So far I haven’t lost anything, and actually received something I didn’t order once. Anyone want a nice little press to replace watch backs?
