Sst-90 and t20 unique fire

Which one can I modifie to help give me about 400 yards be
And tight beam

As I say I am new to all this

Thank you Kev

Well the basic formula for maximum throw is to minimize the emitter size and maximize the size of the reflector/aspheric lens. So basically get the smallest brightest emitter you can find and stick it into the biggest reflector/lens.

An SST-90 led is a rather large sized emitter, much bigger than an xml so to get a comparative throw distance and tight beam from it you’ll need a much bigger reflector than any of the lights you own. Look at the Trustfire T90 for an example of what I mean. In your lights the SST will be more of a flood monster, probably not what you’re after :stuck_out_tongue:

Your best bet for getting maximum throw out of your light collection is probably from the C8 or TF20 combined with a dedomed XP-G2 R5 emitter on a copper pcb.
The XP-G2 seems to be popular with throw fanatics because it’s considerably smaller than an xml while still putting out a decent amount of light when overdriven. Dedome it and you’re really talking about a tight beam! This one should work in your C8, I don’t know enough about the TF20 to make a recommendation but an aspheric lens may get you more throw distance overall with a sacrifice in usable spill compared to a reflector light.

Hope this helps somewhat.

If I change the led in the t20 as it adjustable zoom to the emitter how much throw would I get if anyone on here sells toruch ill happy buy it as long as it does a lot of throw with bright beam

the uf t20 can be persuaded to throw extremely well, it just depends if your ok witg the square die image or not. personally it really irritates me so I will not use zoomies at all.

A c8 with a noctigon mounted xp-g2 and qlite driver will prove a very usefull tool, the noctigon xp-g2 and qlite can both be bought from intloutdoor.

For real throw, I got a convoy l2 host from fasttech, a 5a two cell driver from lck-led and an xp-g2 on a noctigon, I dedomed the led by suspending it in a nescafe jar with some petrol and left it over night.

its a bit involved getting the reflector down snug to really get it focussed but its very impressive.

The zy-t08 by small sun is pretty easy to mod into a heavy duty thrower, is still pocketable and pretty easy to mod, it also uses the cells in parallel so is considered safer, I’m quite happy with cells in series but some people are not.

if you are going for high output, your going to want good cells, you want good cells either way, but poor cells will severely hamper output.

You can always drop me a pm or bob over to pie eating land if you want to have a chat, I’m only half an hour away from you.

I don’t no how to pm as I say am new to site can you email or call thanks Kev

It’s always a bad idea to share your phone number in a public forum… I’d recommend you to edit your post and send a pm to gords. Just look a bit under the picture of that four wheeler, under the stars and info, You have a link to write him a private message
