I did NOT see this thread. I will go back to browsing BLF ignoring this thread. :)
But I do really like that triple emitter one! Bet it will be one of the Black Friday Specials! They always put out the displays early at full price then change the prices for Black Friday. There's a chance the price will be lower on the remaining stock after Black Friday. My store does show 23 in stock.
This light is not a must have like the DST. It doesn't have the quality anno and the reflector concerns me for durability. I would not pay any where near the $30. In the teens, I would probably pick one up. Maybe the reflector is better than I perceive, but I would want to know of a decent replacement alternative is available to make the light worth more to me.
I don't recall the box saying waterproof. There was no manual included. I'd be willing to bet DBCstm is correct as there was not even an o-ring for the plastic lens. Water resistant to a light mist maybe.
I stopped at the Despot while on errands, and it seems I was looking in the wrong part of the store all along. There they were, they look nice, certainly heavy enough but still not big enough to upstage a X6. Now to wait for a sale…
I just went to Home Depot for some tile grout and ended up with the AAA lights.
I made some battery sleeves out of 3/4” CPVC tubing and stuck some 18500s in them. About 0.75 amp tailcap current. The beam is a little ringy at close range and has some yellow-green fringing around the hot spot but looks a little better 4 meters out. I will have to check them out better tonight.
Of course. No need to rush in to those things. The time spent making spacers, lubing threads and tightening pills allowed me to formulate a good plan for the home repair.
I really want one of the 3D models. I have the other Defiant C and D models and love them all! I am done with 3 AAA lights!!! Cannot stand most of them.
Woooohoooooo the triple xpg 3D light was in the west end homedepot (Edmonton)
I picked one up, and got to use it in the Firefighters training facility (where they do controlled burns. What a blast, with all the smoke residue on the walls, it takes some serious light to see in there. The triple is as bright as my Sunwayman D40a, and I believe it has better throw. Wasn’t in there long, had to gasket a few windows and then onto the next job. It was a nice test for the light, I’m glad I got one
I found both at my local HD. I couldn’t justify $30 on it, or $10 for 2 more 3xAAA lights.
If someone is looking for them, the HD I went to had rearranged a bunch of the front isles (near the mechanic tools/sockets/blades/etc) and threw down a bunch of cardboard display cases with random flashlights/head lamps/tools/etc. This is where I found these.
