I’d like to hear of some good host suggestions to build a few lights. I recently ordered a Convoy S2+ in copper to build a triple. Any other good suggestions for a good host I can consider for a fun mod? Ti, bronze, or brass would be cool and 14500 options. Thanks for any suggestions! Just looking for lights to experiment and have fun with.

I like how copper, bronze, and titanium look.
I’ve never been a fan of brass.
Also, I prefer aluminum because it’s practical cost-wise, and it handles heat well.
Aluminum made to look like some more expensive metals would work for me.

I’ve been checking out DongDongHai(DDH) hosts lately.
If you search the forum for DDH-D2G or D2G you’ll find a couple of posts.
The DDH-D2G is sort of a Convoy M21A with a 22mm driver and USB-C charging built-in to the Host.

They are listed on TaoBao and they only ship inside China, so you need to use a forwarder.

There aren’t many manufacturers that sell hosts.
On the affordable side, it’s esentially just Convoy that i know of.
Even for modding, Sofirn and Wurkkos are not usable because too many of their lights are glued shut (Sofirn basically all, Wurkkos like 70% of them).
Maybe one of the cheap AliExpress lights that I have here would be interesting for you?
I still really like the first one, the F82. Just put in a good cell and some good LEDs (519A or 219) and you have a fantastic little light.

What finish you like? I’m gonna pick one up. I like the silver.
They both look nice but I like the contrast of the Black and Stainless.
