I realized that many people don’t see many stars at night, either because of nighttime light brightening the sky, or smog, or both.
I happen to go camping in an area that’s very dark at night, so moonlight modes are very useful.
So part of this is to get an idea of who can see what stars at night —because that determines what flashlight levels are noticeable and useful.
