If you could have what you think you need or want what would that number be?

I always tell myself 1 more and I will be good. We all know where that leads, haha. Truthfully I probably only want or need 8. But newer lights always beg to replace one of those. Brighter, longer runtimes, better beams, etc.
You need one edc, one headlamp, one thrower, one flooder, and then it comes to what you want, and you always want MORE 
Need several - Want several more.

One good EDC, in my case a Convoy S4
A solid weapon light, I use a solarforce l2m on the end of my Winchester 1300 12ga
Something super bright for search and rescue. I usually end up using my SRK, but if I had to pick only one I’d go TR-3T6 because of all the battery options.
Actually that’s not so bad!
As others mentioned, an extra light in my truck would be nice, but that’s where my SAR pack stays and I always have my EDC when I drive anyways. I’d want a few for around the house and a few strategically stashed in various backpacks and jackets and such, but again my EDC usually gets used anyways.

I currently have 15 flashlights, not counting the plastic Dorcy flashlights we had before my addiction began. I think that about 20 flashlights would be a good number.

I need them all!Sometimes I like to line them up on the dining room table.When I can fill the whole table with all my lights, I’ll just get a bigger table! :8)
Need: about 5 (one small EDC like Olight i3s or i2EOS or nitecore sens AA, something like that, one biger EDC like UF C20, one thrower, one bike light and one lumen cannon).
Want: only 1 piece of every new model branded and unbranded light released in last 3 years till today and of course same trend in the future :bigsmile:
Of each brand and type of Flashlight, one of each + modded extras in each type of LED and Tint that would be compatible then more extras for each of the above of each type of compatible driver (and each reprogrammed version of that driver), and extras for the different logical maximum current levels for each type of driver.
I'm not sure how many that is but that would do for starters, then I'd have to get a lathe and start over.
Going over in my mind all the places I’d like to have lights stashed like cars, packs, around the house, extra at work, etc as well as the lights for personal use for myself and the immediate family (for whom I select, purchase, issue and maintain lights)… comes to around 24 or so.
I currently have 18. Hmmmm.

I'd say I need 1 for every room in my house including my garage, car, and one for edc. That makes 15.. That said, I have way too many..Well, maybe not :)

- de-domed thrower
- Regular thrower
- Pocket rocket thrower (de-domed XP-G2 + aspheric)
- Mini thrower (around AA size)
5 Extreme output lights
- Something insane (with a bunch of emitters)
- Larger than SRK sized light (maybe with handle)
- SRK sized light
- 2 more lights with possible differences in tint, sizes, beamprofies, UI etc than the three others, could be Xenon too...
10 general purpose lights
- Size wise these should range from around Convoys S-series to C8/Ultrafire F13 size
Cover beam profiles from flood to quite good throw (or zoom lights). Cover different battery types. Cover a large range of tints. Regular,electronic or magnetic switches. Cover a large range of UIs for different purposes.
10 other lights (Small EDC, Keychain, Headlamps, Color, special emitter, extreme flood)
- Small EDC/Keychain lights (Single AA or smaller batteries)
- Headlamps
- Colored emitters, multicolor emitters.
- Special emitters, UV, Infrared, etc..
- Super floody lights. The type of light that you just hold in your hand and lights up everything without pointing much.
10 rarely/less used lights (Emergency lights, Vintage/classic/Nostalgia, Collectors items/shelf queens/unique lights, )
- Emergency lights. The type of lights you have in car, garage, various rooms.
- Vintage/classic/Nostalgia. These can be old family lights or collectibles. Older incandesents (like Maglites). They can also be more modern lights with outdated LED emitters. Basically collectibles, lights you have memories too, or different lights used for comparison with the latest tech...
- Collectors items or unique one of a kind builds/custom lights. Special edition lights and such..
10 lights for the future..
There should always be a good buffer of lights to be modified, or lights that are getting modified, future gifts and such..
To summarize. 50 lights total. Should cover most bases, needs and desires to be happy from a flashoholic perspective from my point of view.
Does not hurt to have a bit more in certain categories though, or to buy possible replacements for different lights.. 0:)

What I have plus just 1 or 2 more for each type of situation I can imagine.
Need one EDC, one good headlamp, one good high output light like SRK king or something likt that.
