I leave the center pin on and don’t solder the back ground tab but I can see how your method makes it easier to solder without bridging across the pins. I always check for continuity after and sometimes have to touch the pins up a bit.

Hahaha leaning tower of 7135’s I’d say. Nice tip by the way as I usually add mine on the bottom side just because there is more room to work with. Up to now I’ve soldered the driver to the pill in smaller lights.

I’ll have to give that a try. Cheers

Did my first ever multi triple stack. I don’t change the tip on my soldering iron anymore, just use the large chisel tip for everything lol. Ground connection on 9 and 11 o’clock 3rd tier chips made on the back tab only.

Convoy driver modified for a single 7135 moonlight (9x on the main channel) running BLF-A6 FW, all components on top of board for use with non-filed retaining ring.
