I want to blackened the SS button and ring with a blowtorch like I already did on the pocket-clip.

I have one too, you can unscrew the tailcap and take the ss ring out

IIRC I’ve ruined one of mine trying to open the tailcap

There is another screw behind the stainless steel on the tailcap? The area is super small to unscrew it.
