How to flash latest Andruil 2 on to new model LT1

I recently got a New Lt1 from Sofirn in a GAW. I have a couple of others, so I figured I could play with this one a bit. I would like to flash the latest multichannel version of Andruil 2 onto it. I haven’t pulled it apart, but from what I can see it has no flashing pads. Are there any if I pull it apart further? If not, would it require one of those chip clips to do the job? How do I get to the chip? I am not one that likes to just start tearing into something without having an idea where I am going.

I definitely have searched the forum and even the greater Internet for info. I came up empty. So I figured I would ask the experts here.

There’s the LT1S and there’s the LT1S Pro…

As far as I know, the LT1S uses a proprietary, non-updatable UI.

The LT1S Pro uses Anduril 2 and can be updated via a USB-C to UPDI flashing tool which a couple folks around here make and sell.

Remove the black plastic insulator ring and you’ll find the flashing pads.

I assume that this is under the opt diffuser part of the Light. Is this right? So, remove the bolt in the top and disassemble the diffuser part? There is no insulator that I can see on the bottom of the head. Just the board with the contacts for the battery. This looks like it is only held in by two screws.

Thanks for the reply!

I found this:

But it looks from the Reddit article that the entire head need to be taken apart. No problem as long as I know what I am need to do. But it leaves me a bit confused about:

Are you talking about the LT1 or LT1S (or its sibling LT1S Pro), two completely different lights?

It is the full sized LT1 NO S or M. As it is a new model, I believe it is called the LT1 Pro. But it is the original full size lantern. The one with the 4 18650 cells .

The picture you’ve posted shows the LT1S Pro, but the title references the regular LT1, that’s why I asked. Also there is no “LT1 Pro”, only

  • LT1
  • LT1 Mini
  • LT1S
  • LT1S Pro

Can you unscrew the battery tube and show us a picture of the inside of your LT1?

I apologize for my brain today. It is the LT1. I assume the latest model (V2 ?). As it was delivered within the last week or so.
LTI bottom head
That is the picture of the bottom of the head where it contacts the 4 18650s.
The entire lantern:

I completely missed the “S” in the article tittle that I got the original picture that I sent from. Glad I have people to look out for me here.

Now remove the black plastic insulator in the middle and you should find your flashing pads.

That thing doesn’t want to come out. I already dinged it up using a little jewelers screwdriver.

Should be glued in with some double-sided tape IIRC. Its purpose is to force you to use button-top batteries, although I’m not sure it is good at it.

OK. I will mess with it a bit. I suppose the light would still work without it, if I destroy it…Thanks for the help !!!
