Could someone please help. I am trying to post some lights for sale, but it says “read only” for that category. What do I need to do in order to post?
WB, Jonny!
As far as I know, newbies cannot post in Want to Sell.
I don’t know what the minimum post count is, and that number could change, but I think you need to increase your post count.
Mr. Admin should know what the minimum number is, but I would be surprised if he were to share that number publicly.
Thanks Raccoon!
I wrongfully assumed it would be based on longevity rather than number of posts, since anyone could technically “join” the forum, and in just one day, riddle off hundreds of posts just to become eligible to sell something.
I joined this forum 13 years ago, and although I haven’t posted much, I have used it as a valuable resource to learn from others. I would have thought that 13 years would be enough time to prove that I am not just some con man trying to “join” to sell something.
But I appreciate the response!
I have 5 or 6 old lights in NEW condition which I never used in the field, which I am guessing someone in this forum might want, especially if they are into collecting lights like I was. One of them is a Thrunite TN31 which has quite the throw.
Willing to sell as a bundle for a very good price.
since you probably need just a few more posts, let’s keep a meaningful dialogue going…what’s your favorite light, or do you have a favorite-per-use-case?
Perhaps you’ve settled on a particular battery type or form factor?
Favorite light is currently the Zebralight SC600W IV Plus, or any of my 8 Zebralights (4 are headlights). Ha!
But I actually EDC a little Olight because I prefer very small lights in my pocket.
My most used lights are my Zebralight headlights though. Use them pretty much all day every day.
Thanks for posting!
Nice! I put my Zebra down somewhere but cant remember where, lol…In regard to Olight, I find that their smaller lights are their most practical ones. I wish that either their output was a bit lower, or they had multimodes.
have you seen the resistor mod that someone performed on the i3e?
Here you go, courtesy of our very own @jon_slider

I hope you manage to post some pics of your sale..
pics can be a link to a photohost site such as imgur, or I post pics by drag and drop from my desktop

I’ll keep the thread going to help you out some. You may have something I’m interested in after all.
Like you I’ve been here quite a while. My post count probably is not indicative of my tenure. I defer to the experts and choose to sit on the back row.
Thanks!
Yeah, I am no expert when it comes to knowing the technical aspects of LEDS and circuitry, but I know what works in the field. Ha!
I have at least 6 lights I need to get rid of, simply because they are lonely, and want to be used by somebody. Ha!
They are actually very good lights with very nice light outputs. Just didn’t fit my exact needs, related to shape and\or size.
The longer you hang around here, the more ‘exact needs’ you’ll develop. Soon you’ll be creating needs to fulfil and it’s a slippery slope from there on. ![]()

Having spent way too many hours years ago in the CandlePower forum, I know what you mean. Ha!
That forum cost me hundreds of dollars, and I have never been the same since. Ha!
My “needs” are, of course, nothing but WANTS. Because I already have more lights than any human will ever need.
Every time I leave one of these forums, I think, ok, it’s over. I am normal. Then, every few years, it comes back and I am wanting some new lights. Ha!
Little did I know as a teen that I actually had an addiction problem, back when I was thrilled to get my first quality light - A five D cell Brinkman light that would convert to a two or three cell light. WOW, was that thing cool. Prior to that it was the yellow Rayovacs that had my interest. Ha!
@Jonny You have 27 posts. Can you go to Want To Sell and tap the little pencil (New Topic) in the top right to create a WTS thread?
I am not aware of how many posts are required in order to post there, but I will try.
I assumed that whoever is in control of the rules would contact me and let me know that I am good to go.
It appears as though I might be able to post there now. I will get some photos together and list my bundle of lights.
Thanks!
