How to remove driver retaining ring from Tank007 M20 pill?

Hi,

I just got a Tank007 M20 in, and want to replace the driver. The pill screws out of the head, but the driver is held into the pill by what looks like a small brass retaining ring:

I can’t tell if the retaining ring is screwed on or maybe just press-fit, but I’ve tried turning it in a vise, and also tried heating it with a heatgun and turning it, but it just won’t budge.

Does anyone have this same light that might’ve gotten the retaining ring off?

Hi,

Got it. I used two vise grips and finally got the ring off.

The retaining ring looks like it was just press-fit:

Put it in the freezer for a bit; the aluminium should get cold sooner than the brass and will shrink a little, aiding removal.
