How to smooth texture on D4v2

Hi,

I’ve got three different Emisar D4V2, AL, TI and CU.

The knurling on both the TI and the CU are rough or aggressive. To the point that they don’t feel great on the hand like the AL version does.

Can anyone share techniques on smoothing out the knurling on these?

Also can someone share different ways of applying a patina on the CU D4V2?

I have de-burred sharp edges off various soft metals using those green scotch-brite pot scrubber things. Its pretty abrasive though it will dull the finish, and FWIW I have never used it to smooth over a knurl surface, that has hundreds of sharp corner edges really close together.

You could take it to a shop to have it bead blasted. This will also dull the surfaces though so mask off the areas you dont want done.

I use 600 grit emery paper
followed by repolishing with a Sunshine Cloth
