How to swap a led in my flashlight?

I have been using the Sofirn HS05 with a Samsung LH351D 5000K LED for a long time. Now, I want to swap the LED for a Nichia 519A 4000K in my HS05. I found the Nichia 519A 4000K available on Shopee: there are three versions of the Nichia LED from Convoy on Shopee: one version is 16mm, with a single LED mounted on a white board
; another version is 20mm, also with a single LED on a white board
and the last version is a bare LED, just the small yellow emitter without any white board.

Can I just buy it and replace the LED in my flashlight and which version should i buy? Could you guide me through the steps, or do you have any videos showing how to swap an LED in a flashlight?

It uses a custom MCPCB, but you might be able to modify the Convoy one to fit. If it doesn’t work you can reflow the 519a onto the original MCPCB.

I think you will have best chances with the “special mcpcb for T3”, as it’s the smallest one that Convoy offers (around 14mm).

Update:
I assume you do not know how to reflow the emitter (solder it to the board). So the easiest way is to swap the emitter (LED) with the board (MCPCB). To do so you need the new board to fit the flashlight’s head. You should start with the measuring the size of your current HS05’s MCPCB. Then pick appropriate size new MCPCB and eyeball whether its shape is suitable for replacement (small adjustments to MCPCB can be done with a file/sandpaper/dremel).
And do not forget about thermal paste.

Ok @daogiahieu goodluck with your mod.. And if this project is done and suddenly you have ‘that itch’.. to ‘upgrade’ other light you have, or start looking for flashlight to mod… we can understand you😅
