How would you do it?

does anyone have an idea on how to get this brass ring off that is holding the glass in?

what is the silver material? SS?

Can you pull driver, emitter, reflector thru other end to see if there are threads or glue residue in there?

Yea it is SS

No i can’t i have already tried

I can't see the picture... What light?

If it's a standard thread-in bezel, I've had good luck by pressing the bezel against a rubber material (I use the sole of my shoe) and twisting.

I think this is the way to do it, as on the BG webpage for this product it shows that the light comes with a spare glass lens, so you must be able to dismantle the light

the brass ring could be press-fit.

I would try soldering some wires to it, then after it cools down, yanking on it. what’s the worst that could happen?

I am going to try not doing that as this light is for my next review.

I had one, with a ring like this, might be the same, although it was a bigger torch, the ring screwed in, heated it with a hairdryer and used one of those silicone pads ( like the ones u use for getting tops off of jars and bottles)
Pushed it against the lense and the metal ring with the palm of my hand and turned it

thanks, i will try that.

Sorry, couldn’t help myself

Now to answer your orig. question, You may try putting it in the freezer for a few hours and see if the shrinking rates of the different metals used helps to release the ring.
HTH
Good luck,
