I don’t wear gloves all the time when pulling apart packs, but I do wear them when I have pried one open enough to get my fingers in. I have stabalated myself many times on this “clamshell of death,” as I like to call it. The cuts usually happen when one of the clamshell halves finally lets go with a snap. Plus, gloves let me really get in there and pull and pry because now there is no chance of getting cut.
And yes, those spot-weld tab remnants are like razor blades. Be careful!!!
How’s this for a pair of Channellocks?
Just ripped a brand new laptop pack apart (due to the balls up in china shipping), yielded some nice pana 2250mah, I use a dremel cutting tool so injuries are normally avoided, long nose pliers to peel off the metal tabs and final dremel grind to remove burs, and a rewrap using heat shrink, I’m almost an expert haha
Safety glasses a must when using the dremel!
Two more packs pulled apart.
Both are 8 battery HP cells.
I think one is Sony and the other is LG, yet not 100% sure.
This time w/o blood 
Batteries test in between 2v and 3v
Will have to clean them up and see how they charge/hold charge in my new i4.
Might save one set for a second charger I’m sweating over stock coming in and being delivered.
