Hopefully someone can help me real quick, on an HXP70.2 LED which side is positive? One side has 2 dots in the corner and the other does not. Yes I’m new to modding and I’m trying to put one in a Convoy L6.
Look at p.26 of the Cree XHP70.2 datasheet:
It will tell you which side to solder to.
I’m taking that the Anode is positive right?
Put the LED on top so you can see the dome, and the 2 horizontal dots are on the bottom.
Anode(positive will be on the right).
Cathode(negative will be on the left).

Sorry, the devil made me do it. 
Almost everytime I use to go to reflow a led, I had to go look at the datasheet.
If you have a DMM that measures continuity, you can check which pad is what.
Probe both pads in either polarity, When the led lights up, which ever
pad the black probe is on is negative and red positive. Easier for me. 
There’s a reason you have 007 as your username. Your so sneaky smart. I didn’t even scroll that far down when I pulled up the PDF. How do you tell on the HXP70 which is positive if the identifier is covered with solder?
If you don’t have a DMM you can use a 9 volt alkaline battery unless its a 12v led. The 9v high internal resistance keeps the led from seeing more than a few 100ma’s of current, harmless for the led.
