What’s kinda funny is that from January 2015 to November 2023, I only posted pics of Milla Jovovich (who is always a woman and is never a man) in greetings, and I don’t remember anyone complaining (from January 2015 to November 2023.)
Then I started posting pics of other women in greetings, and then all hell broke loose.
Dozens of different pics of the same woman: No problem.
Pics of dozens of different women: Houston, we have a problem.
…
Don’t worry–I plan to also post greeting pics with men, but it’ll take some effort on my part, and I’m not sure when I’ll get around to it.
I get the feeling that the problem infecting society is deeper. People have been trained to dig as deeply as they are capable of doing to find something to be offended by. Worse, if that fails, they will invent a way to be offended on behalf of someone else. Even if that someone else couldn’t care less. This makes it hard for anyone to interact with people, no matter how innocent their intent actually is.
What is interesting is that BLF seems to me to be one of the least offensive forums that I have been around.
In any case, I reiterate, @raccoon, keep up the good work. You are a great ambassador for this forum.
Thanks, Mandrake50!
You’ve been a member of BLF since March 2022 so maybe you don’t remember fishinfool.
fishinfool used to be the ambassador of BLF.
He greeted tons of newbies for many years, and then I followed in his footsteps, and now fishinfool rarely posts on BLF anymore, which is sad to me.
I don’t remember how fishinfool greeted newbies, but I remember he had a stockpile of hundreds of smiley animated gifs that he would use when posting on BLF, which I thought was really cool.
fishinfool gave me access to his stash of smileys, but unfortunately they were hosted on PhotoBucket so I think they’re long gone.
I don’t think posting pics of beautiful celebs = misogyny. Would it be misandry if someone started posting pics of attractive men?
I haven’t noticed anyone saying really inappropriate things about the pics, but if they do then I’d say report them for making the forum family-unfriendly and move on.
Racoon has kept it pretty classy–nothing racy even though lots of racy stuff exists for many of these people.
I kinda have to.
BLF is supposed to be a friendly-family website.
On other websites that aren’t as family-friendly, I act differently because it fits with the other sites’ culture, but I also go by different usernames on those sites.
Thanks very much to Raccoon for being friendly and welcoming, and I’ll leave it up to him how he chooses to do so from here on out.
As for this thread, I think it’s probably reached its usable lifespan.
