I'd like to cut a led pcb

I’d like to cut a led pcb to feet my portotype because ir needs to be 20mm ( or less ) wide.

I’d like to know if it’s possible like that.
Thanks in advance for thé answer.

Looks ok, just be sure to perform some continuity checks afterward to ensure that neither + or - contact is shorting to the thermal pad.

During the cutting, the traces might end up getting mushed into being in contact with the main body (thermal pad) of the MCPCB, and it would be a good idea to sand the cut until smooth to reduce the chances of this happening.

You’ll be cutting through the positive trace.

But I believe the cut drawn by OP does not disconnect the positive trace, no? It seems to just remove material from the positive trace, but leaves connectivity intact.

Based on your sketch, disconnecting the positive trace requires a large chordal/diametrical cut or a cut through the opening of your red circle; OP’s proposed cut is of neither type.

Correct

Thank you everybody for your answers
And the constructive discussion & explanarions
You are true helpers.

How will you cut the board? I’m curious as to the best way to make a clean cut.

I may use a dremel, metal saw or sand peper.

I still don’t have decided ( and already messed my first try before asking te blf )
