70.2

Thanks!

But if you had to choose, Gearbest or Banggood?

I’ve thought about this too, but I don’t have a preference so far.

Why Imalent doesn’t use the term XHP70.2? It is really confusing.
GB page doesn’t mention XHP70.2 neither.

I ordered from Gearbest on Nov 3, when Banggood didn’t have a coupon yet. Was able to choose DHL for free and it was shipped out Nov 6! Tracking estimates it’s supposed to be delivered tomorrow, but we’ll have to see how accurate that is. I think that’s the fastest I’ve seen one of my orders move, but to be fair, several of my GB and BG orders in the past week have had a quick process to ship time as well. They’ve both improved their shipping process it seems, though getting the correct item is still an occasional challenge.

I dont know any delivered DX80 with XHP70. They all have XHP70.2 like mine.
Often the pictures and descriptions are very old and not up to date. Perhaps the first prototypes have had XHP70 and thats why the pictures and descriptions are wrong.

I will repeat part of what I said in post #581

Banggood always :+1:

For me the best support so far, gearbest for me was terrible :person_facepalming:

I’m using both of them and till now no issues.

It says second generation.That’s 70.2.

Me too.I have ordered more than 50 items from BG and I am very satisfied.

I was in another Dollar Tree and saw this display of “chromed” party pieces. What jumped out at me was the plastic ice bucket.

This is sooo much easier than my last attempt, and better!

Once again I must point out that this setup will not increase the throw. What it does is pick up some of the spill and send it down field.
On the left, reflections of the 8 emitters. On the right, lit up at 120 lumen.

120 lumen on the ceiling. The left pic is no extender and the right is with the extender in place.
Camera is set for 1/250 second exposure. The light is about 4’ from the ceiling and that pattern you see quickly goes out of focus as the light is mover further away. The biggest advantage to the extender is that it prevents spill from falling at your feet, blinding you and making it difficult to see further down range. There is more light down range but not as though there is more throw.

I can imagine how uncomfortable it is with 32000 lumens flood on the ground in front of you. I guess that is why you try to improve it, to make it throw a bit more and less flood.
Not really a con, but something one has to endure with for such tremendously high output.

It’s actually not that bad. The flood is much brighter on the x45. The hotspot is just large on the DX80 but the flood isn’t so bright that it makes the throw look dull. Probably the moisture/smoke in the air is a bigger factor.

I am going to wait for the former later, instead of the latter sooner.

I used to wait for the Olight X9 for many months in vain,so when I saw that the DX80 is good, jumped for it with a coupon in my hands.

I agree totally. Able to throw 100+kcd is very decent.
Air dust is the key factor to see through clearly.

Here is a gif of the extender. Light is set at 1500 lumen

There is a dramatic difference in the amount of spill to the sides and a slight improvement to the light downrange.
There would be some loss in total output because of losses in the reflector, but don’t be fooled, that bright light at my feet is sent further out and won’t bounce back as brightly in the picture because it is now further away.

Very nice dchomak. Innovative and successfully implemented.

Am I the only one who thinks imalent should switch to a SMO reflector? It should reduce spill brightness a little and increase throw a little.

The OP texture is needed more for the xhp70 and not really needed with the 70.2.

Ps, Astrolux is working on a 30k+ light. Shhhh.
