Imr 18650 batteries

Hi there wondered if anyone can recommend any 18650 batteries that use true imr chemistry. Thanks

Hmmm, I wasn’t aware there were any batteries that used pure IMR chemistry. They are normally mixed with nickel to stabilize the chemistry. Actually, I thought almost all modern 18650 contained a mix of magnesium, nickel, and cobalt, in varying amounts.

But, out of curiosity, I’m interested to know if there are any true IMR batteries used for commercial purposes. Their resistance to over-charging might have some benefits.

There are true manganese based only cells.

Their highest capacity is only 1800mAh though.

We’re all well beyond the traditional ICR, IMR and IRF chemistries now.

The rule of the day is hybrid.

Don’t go by the product code. ICR, IMR, INR are basically just product names, and don’t really give you an accurate idea of what the cell is made of. You’ll need to download the MSDS for the specific cell type you’re looking at.
