Interest thread for a possible run of Laser imprinted 2AA Mini-Maglites. The hosts would be either Incan or LED. I have some Pros and Cons listed later on in the thread about both hosts.
I am thinking of 25 to 50 "BLF Limited Edition" lights, but that depends on the response and it might end up 25 Incan DD style and 25 LED style, or maybe it will only be 25 lights total. That's what the poll is for.
Right now I am looking at a Late March to April time frame. LEDs, Drivers, TIR optics & Dummy Cells, would all have to come from China. The lights have to be laser cut and then I have to do my thing, so I don't see where this could happen any sooner with all the lead time needed.
Why would I do this. I ask myself that over and over. The only answer I come up with is that it would be a more unique BLF Edition light.
About the Hosts:
2AA Incan Host
Pros
Advantage of the Incan is the Price. It has to be DD, no driver.
Basically, nothing to fail except the LED.
It can use Alkalines, Primary Lithium or a Dummy cell with a 14500. (dummy cell included).
Cons
High mode only, gets hot fast, short run time.

2AA LED Host
Pros
Advantage of the LED is, there is room for a 8x7135 Driver, three modes. Turn it on Medium or Low when it gets hot, longer run time.
Comes with a Dummy cell, for 14500 operation.
Cons
Driver can fail, LED can fail.
Can't run on two AA due to driver.
$49 Shipped Anywhere
Black would be the color, with laser cut letters on the Body, (Knurl), Polished Bezel, Polished Tail Cap and (possibly) two groove rings cut in the body, one on each end of the knurling.
Engraving would be something like;
BLF Limited Edition
Number 1 of ___
The LED would be an XM-L T6 3C (or possibly another tint of T6).
15 Degree or 30 Degree TIR optic. (buyer's choice).
Driver, would be a NANJG 8x7135 original version driver 2800mA and Three modes. H/M/L.
If this actually comes to life, the next step would be to make a Pre-Release Sale thread, where everyone pays half up front and half when the light is done. That's because of the fact that this will be a chunk of change, to buy everything at one time.

EDIT: By Justin - I'm having internet problems at work. Don't know how much I can post. If you want a bare host, I would say it is just as easy for you to go order one, only because there is no price break from one light to over a hundred, so no savings there and that way you could have what you want on it. A google search would find a bunch of places that do free laser imprint. I just googled "laser imprint maglite"
I thought about an O-L's BLF Limited Edition, but I felt it might not set well with some people, maybe not even with me. I'm just not sure of that, maybe popular vote will win out on that option.
I will try to keep an eye on the forum tonight, but as I say, there's some issues at work, so it may be hit or miss.
