I’m interested in the new Emisar D4V2, but I’m a little bit confused about which LED to choose.
“Normally” I’m a neutral-white-guy, e.g. something about 4500K.
But since the last year my actual lights are very fine, too:
- BLF A6 / Astrolux S1 with tint 3D
- Astrolux S41 with Nichia 219 (don’t know if B or C, guess it is B).
- Astrolux S43S with Nichia 219 (guess C)
FW3A (XPL-HI 3D)
Acceptable is the Sofirn Q8 (a tiny little bit too blueish in my view).
Really not acceptable is my Mateminco X6S, allegely XPL-HI 1A, what I really do not believe - it’s really, really awful.
So, what D4V2 would you recommend (I am guessing that in comparison to all my other actual lights the 5D/4000K would be a little bit too yellowish to me)? At the moment I am varying between XP-L HI 3A and SST20 5000K.
Neutral White - XP-L HI V3 3A, 5000K ( +$10.00 )
Neutral White - XP-L HI V2 5D, 4000K ( +$10.00 )
Neutral White - SST20 5000K
Is there another difference between XP-L HI and SST20?
You might have to flip a coin between the 3A and the 5D. You know better than anyone if you’d feel better about something a tad cooler or a tad warmer. 4000K probably qualifies as ‘warm’ rather than ‘neutral.’
Personally, I went for 3000K. 4000K 5D would’ve been my 2nd choice.
I received my D4v2 with the XPL Hi D5. I have a D4S with the XPL Hi A3 with which to compare. The XPL D5 has a warm minimally yellow tint, but what makes it special is the hint of pink within as well. The XPL A3 may be less yellow but it isn’t really white. It has a hint of yellow but doesn’t have the pink blush. I therefore personally prefer the XPL Hi D5.
Thank you for answering. So it’s gonna be an XP-L HI. But are there any beamshots to see the difference between 3A and 5D? Perhaps in comparison to my 3D-models?
Ive got a D4 and have had both 3A and 5D in it - the 5D looks a lot warmer than my 4000k SST20s. Personally, 3A. To me it looks just “white”, and not a “wow that’s yellow”.
