Was curious what people are thinking about the new Wurkkos HD01 that’s coming soon. What aspects of the light make it or break it for you? How do people feel about the price point, battery, or UI?
I’ve seen some people expressing frustration over the price point. Wanted to see what you splendid BLF folks have to say about it.
Specs are incomplete. Which LED? Battery capacity? Fet driver? Etc.
I’ve tried to dig up more info about the “HM” emitter and couldn’t find a thing. I’m thinking we unfortunately probably won’t know until someone gets one and pulls it apart.
Looks interesting. I’d like a lower price, probably 519A and high cri side lights, but… Interesting
Pretty sure that they will use LatticePower HM-3535 LED which is a domeless emitter similar to XP-L HI.
Would make sense since Sofirn already uses LatticePower as supplier of LEDs.

probably the usual cool white 70 CRI, if only for efficiency reasons: small housing and hardly any heat dissipation would otherwise only allow 1200 lm for a few seconds.

Non removable batteries are a huge minus.

Price isn’t bad, at least with the “sale” 25% “off”. Thats a lot less what the Arkfeld costs which this concept is a copy of( long, flat, multi modes with an asinine green laser)
I’d probably get one, it is a lot of what I like, square flat form, front AND side light, relatively compact, built in battery**
Great that I see no stupid UV emmiter.
Dual switch is even a nice idea for a change.
No lanyard loop is usually a killer (I Do Not pocket carry, all lights are tethered hanging somewhere) but something could be bolted on in place of the clip…
But the real killer for me is that assinine laser.
Thats just too dangerous to have on any light you use daily for anything other than psychologically abusing the cat/dog.
**(seriously, flashlights are the Only modern electronics tech where anyone bitches about no removable battery. Everything else its normal. If you can live with a sealed $1200 cellphone that you are required to replace in 3 years because the sealed in battery is shot, then you can do it for a $50 flashlight! )
Not everyone is indifferent to non-removable batteries. There are some who complain about it, but the industry simply doesn’t care because there are too few of them. Compulsion due to a lack of alternatives is the key word.
I hope it’s a hit for Wurkkos, but it’s not on my radar. These multi-function gadget torches seem to be a solution wanting for a problem. If I need light, I need good light, not gimmicks.

I saw the “HD” and thought headlamp, so I hadn’t taken any note of it 'til now. Got all I need for the most part, so…
RGB+W sidelight can be incredibly handy, though.
Non-replaceable battery = not buying it.
I thought the same on the battery but, I have the same problem with my Rovyon’s, the Jetbeam mini-one, my Trustfire mini X3 and, it’s also the same deal with the Olight Arkfeld
so I just ordered one to add to the toy collection. Better price on Aliexpress then on
the Wurkkos site.
Also, I seen a youtube video on this a bit ago. The host took a strong magnet and
was able to remove the magnet at the base of the HD01 thereby exposing the battery
so, it may be possible to change it if the need arises.
