My brother came on board for the Q8, and while time passed I mentioned about the Manker E11 that I really like. He wound up buying one and carries it with him, same as I do, everywhere he goes. Initially, so he told me, he wondered what he would do with it and now uses it where he never thought he would. That’s what I found also about the tiny light. It’s big enough to be usable and small enough to go unnoticed. But the pocket clip needs to be used so as not to lose it.
Then I mentioned about the BLF x5, so he bought one of those today and it has yet to arrive. Yeah, he has started on the slippery slope.
But I didn’t mention that he bought my 8 cell charger, and then bought a Sky RC charger? He doesn’t know it yet but he’s hooked.
Whenever someone comes to visit, my wife is sure to mention, “My new obsession (sigh)”, and my brother mentioned his wifes similar comment. I find it interesting that they reach for the new lights from “the new obsession”. Clearly they like them but don’t want to give any credit. Not all, but many simply don’t get the attraction to portable light even if they’re willing to use it.
OK a light just switched on in my brain… I still have the old SL6’s and cells that the new LED lights have replaced. I’ll bring out the wifes SL6 and hand it to her to use and see what develops.
My wife used to make fun of me (and still does), but now she have an I3E on her car key, and an S2A in her purse…
Not to mention that she uses both my SR mini for ambient lighting in the kitchen since it’s not illuminated enough
But yeah, I’m the freak that friends make fun of (until they need a flashlight, of course)
lol. It really is classic addiction. From the start you either are or you aren’t. But down the road some more will become. One of us. Maybe not always so funny from that angle. But yes, interesting.
My wife use to say things until our last daughter was born and it was easier to use my ee x6 as a lamp in the bedroom then have to get up at night or while feeding to turn on and off while feeding/diaper changing. Now she took my modded sk98 xml2 u4 1c dome on as her light to carry in her purse. If she just has her little wallet. It has the singfire 348 in it.
I’m am still amazed at the people who are use to the old d cell 10 lumen lights. Everyone who sees my x6 or a 1000 lumen tube light p12gt, handaccu, s2+ is amazed and wants one but doesn’t want to understand lithium and safety involved. So I recommend a aa light. Ea41, t-10, archer series etc.
