INTOVA Lights?

These are very pricey IMHO even with the 30% discount but I thought these seem interesting. I have never heard of then before. I thought they were INOVA lights at first ...

Water cooled:

Holy Spit!

I was wondering when someone was going to create a light like that. Next thing would be a water cooled light with a tube running to a radiator on my back.

A former co-worker “gifted” me his Intova IFL 660 Torch after he found out how much the CR123a batteries cost.

No offense meant, but this particular model is very unimpressive. It is glued up (the only way they can make “400ft.” Waterproofing, I guess) except for the tailcap for loading batteries.

It seems to use an ordinary Cree XR-E, which is advertised as a “Cool White” 6000~7000K color. Ho-hum. The web page claims a 7° beam, which doesn’t seem very useful to me. I’m trying to decide if I want to fire it up, but it’s hard talking myself into the cost…

The body (with that weird ext. profile) is bored to tightly fit CR123s, which means my 18650s won’t even start in. So I won’t be feeding it much either. CR123s cost ~ $2 each (in case lots) anywhere I can find them. Singles and pairs can triple that & still not get “good” batteries.

That weird tailcap and lanyard-attachment bothers me. I don’t see this one tail-standing, but I wouldn’t want to leave CR123s alone like that in the first place…

Being as it sells on Amazon for ~60 bucks (!!!), I’d have to say “NO!!!” to one. YMMV on the other models, of course, and they do have others. For the money, you could build a much better one which suits your needs perfectly, and that includes batteries and charger!

All in all, if the brand trips your trigger, I’d say “buy away”. I won’t.
