Introducing clickFlash for Windows users

Perhaps this will be useful to beginners and advanced users alike. clickFlash is a way to flash firmware without typing commands. It solves the problems of looking up commands, looking up correct fuse values, and typos. And it has a manual mode for advanced users. I see it being very useful for users like RMM who has a long list of firmwares they need to choose from before shipping a driver. And useful for developers, who flash tools like battcheck.hex, offtime-cap.hex, and their own updated code many times. And it can be modified and shared for whatever reason.

Here’s what it looks like:

To start it just double-click the clickFlash.bat file:

To set it up:

  1. Make sure you have MHV AVR Tools (avrdude) installed
  2. Own a programmer and have it’s driver installed
  3. It’s recommended to create a folder at C:\avrusb to put clickFlash in. But it can run from anywhere if setup correctly.
  4. Download clickFlash here and put the files in C:\avrusb.
  5. It should now be working, but customization is recommended. You can edit existing options or add new ones to the menu. An edit for example:

*Please note that the included files battcheck.hex, offtime-cap.hex, blf-a6.hex, and example.hex are included for demonstration purposes from ToyKeeper’s Firmware Repository . Click this link to read about the open-source licenses, and do not violate them.
