Anyone know of really good high intensity IR LEDs?
From what I understand, what I should be looking for is high mW/sr.
This is the highest I've found so far: http://ca.mouser.com/ProductDetail/OSRAM-Opto-Semiconductors/SFH-4740/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtjb30GAx%2fDT1U8V3wx9ak79OV%2f1mC1P3I%3d
Cooling or voltage/current is not important, just the highest output possible.
4715as ? has a +/- 45 degree half angle… its pretty tight…
its small diameter led size? well…. it makes it the “thrower king” because of that… we mainly use it under lenses… i guess if you want a flooder?? something else might suit you… hard to go WRONG with a 4715as, though…
its sort of a “number 2” in cree terms… takes double the current of the 4715s that it replaced… with a better “focused emitter” picture…
I’m planing to put it on a UGV with an fpv camera, the IR will give it night vision.
It’s not a typical flashlight, so I can pretty much use any optic or cooling I want.
High output flood is the main goal
idont know WHAT a “ugv” is… but, if you want flood? go with whatever blasts out then, lol… i was figuring you might be using a zoomie… which is typical for night vision…
