Is my Solarforce tailcap missing something?

I just bought my first 18650 light a solarfoce L2t. I was pretty excited to try it out, but to my dissapointment I could not get it to light up. I took the tail cap apart and verrified that the switch is working. I can get the light to work if I take the clicky switch out of the tail cap and touch the center to the battery and the outside to the body of the flashlight, but with the clicky installed in the tail cap the light will not work. I beleive I am missing some sort of spacer that goes in there that connected the clicky to the body of the light when its screwed down. My other lights all have some sort of metal peice that screwes into the tail cap to keep the clicky securley inside, but my solarforce the switch will just fall out. So I guess my question is is something missing and if so where can I get the part?

Looks like you’re missing the threaded retaining ring.

Send an email to S/F.

Welcome to the forum!

It looks as if you are missing the retainer type nut. The switch innards should not just fall out of the tail cap like that. Either send it back, or notify someone where you got it and let them know the issue. They should send a new tail cap right out.

Yup, no threaded retaining ring = no path for the (-)ve. Bummer that you’ll have to wait a bit to get your light functioning.

And welcome to BLF.

Thanks guys that’s what I thought, but wasn’t sure

Did it come that way? Or did you lose it?

It came this way. I emailed the seller, but have not heard back yet. I am impatient so I just ordered the part off of their site because its only $2 and I figured why not throw in an L2P with it so I can have a backup

Sorry to hear that. I can totally understand your impatience. Just be sure they'll refund you the cost of the spare part, it's not ok to send a light out with missing parts.
