Is the Manker MK38 xhp50.3 HI 6v/12v?

I just can’t find this info anywhere, and want to confirm. Because it only comes in 6500k 50.3 HI, it could be 3volt. I don’t want to commit to buying it if it has a 3volt driver (like the sft40) bc I want to reflow high cri NW xhp50.3 HD into it. Thanks all!

Could be because the there was already the the SFT-40 version which is 3V, also the 3V HI version just released which coincides with the mk38 xhp50.3 hi release. The driver might still be 6V but with 4P2S MCPCB, this would make the most sense for power/efficiency considerations, in which case you should be able to rewire the MCPCB to 8P and use normal XHP50.3s, but I can’t find pictures of the SFT version with reflector removed so can’t confirm, unless you’re sure it is 3V ?

You should probably message them to confirm.

Edit : we can reason using the lumen number, the product page says 30000lm, 3750lm per LED, maybe OTF or LED lumens but it doesn’t really matter. This is consitant with a drive current of 5A for a 6V XHP50 or 10A for 3V.
If the driver was 3V, it would need 10×8=80A, not possible.
With a 4P2S arrangement and 6V driver, 3V LED, it would need 10×4= 40A. Loneoceans measured the driver at 43A at turn on, we can conclude that the driver is 6V 4P2S if 3V LED (same as SFT40), or 6V40A 8P with 6V LED.

Same reasoning with the SFT40 version , 20000 lumen, 2500 per LED, so 9-10A per LED, 80A isn’t possible, so it’s 6V40A in 4P2S.

This is Extremely helpful! Thank you for the informative response and for editing it after determining the most probable scenario. That makes a lot of sense. I want to capitalize on the possibility of a 50.3 90+ CRI in 3500-4000k. Ive found some nice emitters, and i have always loved this host. And thanks to you, if I have to jump the board to 8P i know how to do that (The 3v → 12v 5050 K1 mcpcb mod). Thank you! Now i just need to figure out… White or gray host :slight_smile:

Ahh, so sounds like same driver for both the sft40 version and xhp50.3 version? Meaning not onyl same drive current, but same amperage as well?

Probably the same driver for all versions

Ahh, yes. that would make sense. The Size and output parameters of 70.2 would likely put up the 41000 lumens with the same drive current. I forget that sometimes lol

43A as measured by Loneoceans is maybe a little hard on SFT40s (10.75A), maybe they reduced the current a bit vs XHP70 version.

So, now that we see the sft40 is 4S2P and the driver is likely the same 6v, that should mean they likely just changed the MCPCB for the 50.3 HI version, and it would be 8P? Unless of course they used 3volt 50.3 HI that is…

Well the timing coincide with the XHP50.3 HI 3V release, plus they say it’s a limited release, sounds to me they thought about doing a small run of XHP50.3 HI version thanks to the new 3V HI and they don’t even need to produce a new MCPCB.
