hey guys, im new here. i have a quick question about a LED found here . im looking to update my S6 binned XM-L2 HCRI light. According to the Cree data sheet the highest binned HCRI XM-L2 is the T2 bin… yet kaidomain lists a HCRI T3 bin in stock. one caution flag is that the tint bin listed is 7A3, while the photo of the label they provide says 7A4. another point of concern is that the label has almost a year old date on it. surely cree would update the datasheet if this has been available for a year, right? do you think what is listed at the kaidomain site is legit? or should i avoid? thanks for any input.
If you are in the USA you could order from Mountain Electronics and get it faster, you can also be positive that you will get the bin and tint you order…
thanks, but i should have been more specific… im looking for 90 cri minimum (also bare emitter). mouser has the 90 cri T2 bin, but i doubt one bin higher than my current S6 bin would be worth the hassle.
Cree is not the fastest in updating their bins, and on top of that, more than once sellers have got higher bins than the datasheet lists, in that case Cree has them in limited supply but can not not deliver them in huge quantities for projects.
Kaidomain has recently become a reliable source of good and recent leds and I tend to believe the bins that they list.
About that specific led: I noticed before that the picture shows 7A4, so a bit at the red side of the Black Body Line, and, having used that led in a few flashlights, I think the picture is right and the KD text is wrong.
But whatever is true or wrong, this led from KD is one of the best tinted leds that Cree ever made IMO, if you like warm and good CRI combined with still good output, you will love it! ![]()
thanks, man!!! that exactly the feedback i needed!
