Is this normal? Getting less amps with XP-L HI 7A.

I reflowed a XP-L HI 7A into my Eagle Eye X5, and now it does 2.1 amps with an NCRB and 2.4 amps with a 30Q.

Stock, the light did 2.8 amps with the XP-L 3C it came with.

This seems more normal than you would think due to two factors… One is the XPL HI is always a lower bin (U5 vs V5 more than likely) and the higher tint numbers are also lower output compared to lower (cooler) tints…

The only question here is: Do you like the new tint/output compared to the previous? You always loose output going to warmer to tints, but if they are easier on your eyes, that is what counts…

Hope this helps…

Up to now I thought only the measured lumens depend on the color bin, and not the power consumption. Am I wrong?

@anotherhammer:
Your measurements seem litte anyway, my EE takes 3.5 amps with original XP-L HI and 3.1 amps with Keeppower 2900 mAh. Did you use the same DMM for alle measurements? A clampmeter is better for this purpose than a standard DMM.
