I've Never Seen This Lens Design Before! Sofirn SC29 Review

Nice review, i think I have seen that lens once before. Will have to remember the model number.

It’s in the SC28 too

Finally a good sized switch. I find the tiny SP35/TS22 switch very difficult to find when using winter gloves.

Love that they’ve gone to a single-way clip on this light. A dual-way clip is just useless on a light this size.

Does this clip fit on a SP35 or TS22? I might have to buy some of these clips if they do.

That switch looks good. Is it as nice as the Wurkkos TS11 switch? That one’s so far the nicest Sofirn/Wurkkos switch of theirs that I’ve tried.

I saw this lens design before, in lamps for domestic lighting.
I’m not surprised to see these lenses in a flashlight, especially if these lenses are a few cent cheaper than other types.

I’ve got one. For a domed XHP50 (MINE SAYS XHP50D 5700-6000K on the package) the TIR does a good job with it. Those things typically make ugly beams

Shame it’s not 90+ CRI.

Sofirn may have custom made it themselves with a 3D-printer using a crystal clear resin.

Astrolux ED01 has a similar reflector. I guess its the new style.

Ah nice! Most of you guys have been into lights longer than I have so probably come across it before. They remind me of those halogen down light reflectors. Really nice beam though, and it addresses the issue of crappy flood on a normal TIR lens (on lower modes)
