JAX Z1 host ??

Is the JAX Z1 available to individual consumers just as a host?

If so, does anyone know where to get one?

I have searched & searched and can find no answers.

I don’t think it is anymore. You could send them a message, or go with a UF-1504 or –1405 host from RMM/mtnelectronics

PM user jaxman in this forum, they offer some hosts normally not listed in their Aliexpress website.

Sears apparently has them for the discounted, low low price of $150.

I messaged Simon (Convoy) about this a few weeks ago, and he doesn’t have any Z1 hosts at all. I ended up buying a host from a member on here, but they are incredibly hard to find.

If you don’t mind me asking, what driver and LED did you use in yours?

Are the Z1’s set up for a 20mm MCPCB & a 22mm driver? Or is it some other combination?

My search is on…… I’m gonna do all I can to find one.

I went with a XP-G2 S4 2B LED on 20mm Noctigon MCPCB with a 22mm FET Driver and an Efest 26650 (all from RMM). I also dedomed the emitter. This sucker is a pencil beam when zoomed in! :partying_face: Out throws 9/10 of my regular reflector “thrower” lights. I also bought a new lens from Banggood (might have been Fasttech), because the lens that came with it had a few smudges that wouldn’t come off.

It’s an amazing little light! It is surprisingly compact when telescoped in and turns into a light saber when telescoped out. I don’t know how long the Z1 has been around for, but I’m surprised that more people on here aren’t still talking about it. Maybe we can revive the demand!

I know there is a GB going on right now for, what I thought, was going to be the Jax Z1. Aka the “Cometa.” But I guess the manufacturer remanufactured their own clone instead of sticking with exact Z1 specs.

If I could find these things cheaper, and as a host, I’d be building tons of them. By far my favorite light… at the moment anyways :smiley:

I know about the Cometa, I just want a JAX Z1 to build and also to actually have one in hand to compare to the Cometa myself.

We are gonna make new pills for our Cometa’s out of either Copper or Aluminum, when we get around to it; going back to a 22mm driver pocket… like you verified in the the JAX ZI. The pills are gonna have a couple of other minor changes concerning driver retaining options also.

I appreciate the info my friend. When I finally do find a Z1, I may very well holler back at you with another question or two.
