Jaxman X6 Hunter CREE XHP 50

Awesome looking light. I’ve seen a couple of threads on here about it.
I have a question though, is there any way to eliminate the dark cross in the beam centre ?

Or another option, can the LED be changed to amother, but retain the same amount of brightness / throw ( or even more ) without the beam artifact?

Cheers.

Lol ” amother”. Another, even

The updated model uses an OP reflector which drastically reduces the center cross, I installed it in mine and now its just a small hole in the beam, only visible if you look for it.

I think you can change the LED to an MTG2, but no one has done it yet.

Adjusting reflector height also helps, but you lose some throw.

Oh cool. I thought I saw a pic of 2 side-by-side with SMO reflectors while surfing. Now that I know this piece of info, I’m keen to grab one. Thanks for that.

Would you say it’s a good thrower ? Does it push out to a useable say 350m + ??

I fully asked for that. Classic typo

I measured mine with the new OP reflector, ~108kcd at 2 meters… yeah it’s quite a thrower.

Not bad, thanks

Yeah, Ive had just about all the 6v LEDs you could imagine in these X6’s…I just sold a MT-G2 for $200.00 it was that nice! you want to use a XHP70 Frost it…. You want more throw Shave it…. These are one of the best designed and built lights with excellent machining quality. I have one with a pressed in copper heat sink I made, fully potted reflector cavity, Shaved and polished XHP70, pulling 12.2 amps, and can run WOT outside in this weather with out issue. It sheds heat that well, and its a very huge throwy beam that lights up the farm fields like a search light. Everybody I have ever let use these lights are nothing but impressed with them, some have even become BLF members after using them!

Holy hell ! That’s awesome.
Yeah they look well built from the pics I’ve seen. I really want one now !

If you use the brass pill, lightly solder the threads up and re-cut them using the the head, before building the pill, take your time doing it, you have even better heat transfer! I don’t like using thermal paste on threads. I remove the ano and polish the surface the pill head mates too, often I have spotted this contact point in ,more contact better thermal transfer. Make sure your pill surface is flat and smooth, polished, and your mcpcb board too. I solder bond the mcpcb to the pill, I don’t like thermal paste, if I can help it?
