I just received Jetbream II Pro and notice some issues.
Light does not work at all with the clip is mounted on.
Pressing the button in low and middle mode, to change mode or turn it off, the beam flickers once, when the button clicks, before it then changes mode, also like that when turning it off. This is no problem in High mode.
Holding the button permanently in, from off the light flickers on and off until button is released, like a low imbalanced strobe mode.
Holding the button permanently in, when the light is on, there is no flickering cycling between modes. It seems to be an issue exactly when pressing the button, bad contact?
I am using Olight disposable battery that works perfectly in S10 Baton, would it help to use a longer protected battery?
There is a small hatch in the lens small enough to cover one of the Leds black corner holes, that does not affect the beam, anyway.
Are these things something I should complain about to Gearbest?
It gets much warmer than my Olight S10 Baton that also has quite better finish. A $50 price tag is ludicrous, it should be $ 25 maximum. No more Jetbeams for me if this is the brand’s quality level.
Can you make sure that the clip is seated into one of the 2 indentations on the light? Otherwise, the tail cap will not screw on properly, possibly causing your issues.
Ah, having actually read your OP properly (it’s late here, sorry) it makes more sense.
The Jet II pro will always flicker once when the button is pressed to change modes, they all do that. Holding from off makes it strobe slowly, indicating it is locked out, and single clicks will not power the light on. You can then double click to moonlight, or hold for 3 sec again to return to last used mode.
I am not sure what you mean about the small hatch in the lense, I would have to see a picture, but everything else you are describing is normal for the Jet II pro.
The finish on mine is exceptional, no flaws, and the anodizing is more durable than the black on my ST25 Baton by far. If you are comparing the light to the original s10, keep in mind the Jet II pro has about double the maximum output while being a tad smaller. It’s only natural that it gets warmer.
It’s possible the finish on your light is a one off, but Jetbeam’s dark grey/brown anodizing has always been near perfect, and I have a rather large sample size of third lights. Some pictures of the poor finish and the aforementioned hatch would be helpful in establishing whether or not there is an issue with the light.
And while we are at it, triple click when the light is on triggers a 3 min shut off timer, and another triple click puts it on a 9 min timer. Just thought I’d mention, as I have seen people think their lights were faulty and shutting off by themselves.
EDIT: I should add that while I love the light and would pay $50 if I had to, the light does regularly go on sale for ~$35 or so, and I have seen it or as low as $25 with a coupon. So I can’t exactly say you got a good price on yours.
Very well explained. I have a II pro copper. It is a pretty light. Does everything OP mentioned. I noticed the pre-flash when switching modes. Had trouble turning it on after battery change (figured out the hold-for-3-second trick). But it is pretty! the tint of the emitter is pure white with no unpleasant hues. And it is quite bright.
I wanted to put the clip underneath on the opposite side to the button so used a dremel and carefully made another indentation and whilst with the clip in that position you don’t notice the silver where I dremelled I got a black marker and just went over the small area as well.
I think they’re great lights … possibly one of the nicest beam patterns there is with a reasonable throw and decent spill …… I wish there was a mode around the 60 level as the 100 on this is very bright and get you’d considerably better run time. Be nice if there was a neutral white with a warmer tint as an option but overall a brilliant small and very pockeatable light!!!
