June 27th, 2014 -- Is BLF Slow for Everyone?

Mine about average for the USA.

I find that ping and stability is more important than the maximum speed of the connection. If you can have both, well, that’s nice. I game a lot online so a low ping is doable in Europe. I can’t game ok with other continents, we’re far from that at the moment.

I read somewhere that in the USA they limit the total traffic and sometimes lower the speeds after a set amount. That is outrageous if it’s true. Internet should be free and untamed.

I have no idea about that really, except the speeds I get according to speedtest.net, are fairly consistent

BEAT THIS……(sang to the tune of Michael Jackson’s Beat It )

!!

Ouch that does not look good.

Until about 3 months ago I was using DIALUP Netzero at 56K so find my new high speed cable internet from my cable TV company to be GREAT. 60 MBPS or close to it per the tests I have run. Of course I am old enough to remember when a 2KBPS connection from the Pentagon to Norfolk took a dedicated AT&T line. I was working on a VACUUM TUBE computer system at the time, a Univac 1103A.

As I said elsewhere, Romania has insane internet. We were nearly there, now only some of us are. The idiotic politics of opposition for oppositions sake.

Figured I would bump this one instead of making a new thread.

About every other link clicked will come to a full stop and be extremely slow to load (10-25 seconds). Usually a second/third click or a refresh will get it loading fast.

Started about a day after the maintenance and has been pretty much constant all day today for me. Mobile(safari) and Desktop(chrome).

Thanks for the reports. I’m trying to get the configuration under control at the moment.

I noted the same thing and I am using a 60 MBPS cable connection.

It's been slow on and off today July 22 since I logged on around 10 am eastern daylight savings time here in New York..

OK, we’re going to try something else with the host, please prepare for a brief downtime during the next few minutes.

Done. Thanks for your patience!
