I'm sure everyone knows what a HD2010 is.

I'm not going into a big build thread. I just wanted to describe the results, as I was impressed with them.

I bored out the pill a little and slid in some copper pipe and copper discs to make a better heat sink. I added an XP-G2 led to a 20mm copper star and soldered it all together. It was a press fit into the pill. I am driving it with a FT NANJG cheapie clone driver with 12x7135 chips (the 380mA variety), so I have about 4.5 amps available to the led.
Since it's a single cell light, I know I'm not going to see 4.5 amps, even with a good 26650, because to get that high of an amp draw, I would have to maintain well over 4 volts constantly, so I was shooting for 4 amps if possible. I did the copper braid mod on both the driver spring and the tail cap spring.
My results:
XP-G2/Panasonic 10A 18650/4.5A driver - 4 Amps and 53,600 Lux @ 1 meter
I did get a new one of the 50 amp Sony 26650 batteries, but I still get 4 amps max, so I figure that's the max for this setup.
Man, this thing is bright!

1/30th of a second, from about 5 feet away.
I was just amazed the XP-G2 would take 4 amps, even with the copper.
I will do some beam shots tonight, but I know I can't get enough open room to do the light justice.

I just build lights and chop up things!!! I don't get out much!!
How about a photo or two of the pill mod?
I'm too noobish to say with certainty.
