Hello Everyone, new guy here! I just got an Astrolux S1 and it’s missing the 18350 tube, it even has a piece of foam in place where the 18350 tube typically is. See the picture below.
I’ve emailed banggood but haven’t heard anything back, does someone know a contact over there I could reach out to that may be a little more responsive?
Had the exact same problem - took about 36 hours, give or take, for someone to respond. After responding to their response, they sent a tube. Relatively painless transaction, if a little annoying because it shouldn’t have happened.
Yeh, it’s funny ain’t it. All of your money was paid up front, or you wouldn’t a’ got nuttin’. Why wasn’t there 2 short tubes and a spare 18650 battery included you might ask? LOL…You’d think if they’re gonna make a mistake, occasionally it might be in your favor once in a while right?
Now I’m not saying they are cheaters…but how can they keep making so many mistakes that get reported on here? And the hassle of contacting them…can be a headache…. I would have had a spare BLF A6 a while back…but the reported wrong emitter tints they were sending out etc. etc. wrong threading/pitch, and now your experience has reinforced my previous state of discouragement from even following up with another order.
It’s like walking up to a crap table…never knowing the outcome. And all who say it’s ok and forgivable to make a mistake and that they always will remedy it…it’s Still a Major PITA period. China QC needs to get with the program.
I still plan on rolling the dice with future models comin out…but
JEEZZZUS !! Wake up BanGGoody !
Because it’s a lot easier to forget to add the short tube, that it is to add two of them when there is only room for one in the box. And a battery? What? “Oh, lets add this other random thing that isn’t supposed to be included”
Well, to be honest, it actually has happened to me, more or less. A couple of times they have sent me one item too many, which I shamefully must admit to never paying for. Not as often as they made the mistake in the other direction, I’ll give you that, but still, it has happened
As it costs them money to pay for the extra work of sending replacements and the shipping isn’t free (even if one would think so sometimes), you would have to be fairly stupid to think that that is a good business strategy. So no, of course they don’t do it on purpose, that would be absurd.
If you want perfect service, don’t use the cheapest market places in the world (as BG, FT, GB). I would think that is obvious as well? The amount of moaning and complaining about the service from the Chinese resellers on this site is staggering, by now everyone should be aware that you have to accept some trouble, but that’s what you are (not) paying for.
Yes wait for 48 hours before taking further action
I know a guy who is CEO of a company trading worldwide.
Production in The Netherlands, Japan, India and since a couple of years China.
He said, dealing with Chinese is very hard, every detail needs to be put down in contracts and controlled, he was grey before he got the production running in China, now he is bold
I just received mine on Monday and it was missing the 18350 tube as well. I opened a ticket with Banggood but have yet to hear back. I assume I’ll probably be waiting another day or two before I hear anything from them. While slightly annoying I’ve come to expect stuff like this happening from these companies. It’s unfortunate but it’s the price we pay for cheaper goods.
I’ll update when I finally get a reply and let you know what the outcome is.
I ordered 5 S1’s. They arrived today missing the shorty tube. I emailed them and heard back within an hour. I guess I’ll wait it out. They put something up on the S1 page on their website acknowledging the issue.
Had the same issue. Ordered my BLF a6 one day before my Astro S1. The astrolux came 4 weeks later than my BLF and was missing the tube. the email they sent me said that they were out of stock on the tubes and would send when they became availible
I got a response saying they were sending me a replacement tube. In the mean time I got a shorty tube for the non anodized blf A6 light and that works perfectly with my astrolux. So it looks like they’ve fixed some of the machining errors.
