I should have put that I ordered and knowingly ordered 2 that where DLG and 2 that where Sanyos. And that's what I received. But I agree that they (Keeppower) should put a better label on their cells.

Thanks for the input! I got 4 Keeppower 14500's from Doingoutdoor a while back, mainly because of HKJ's praise in his review... Should have known better, they seemed too cheap for Sanyo-cells.. :( And now you can get them for $ 3,90 a piece from CNQ... :~ Our local dealer, Akkula.fi, seems to have both, €5,30 for DLG and €7,50 for Sanyo...

Your dealer should be well aware of what batteries they bought. When we bought KeepPower batteries we were asked to specify which internal cell. There are two for the KP14500, either DLG or Sanyo. If your dealer sold you DLG as Sanyo then it's their fault, not KeepPower's. We are well aware of what is inside the KeepPower batteries we sell and label them clearly in our listings. If a dealer did not do his own research or purposely writes vague or incorrect listings, it is no one's fault but their own.

Keeppower will take any cell and put a wrap around, it basically depends on what is ordered from the dealer.

yeah this is what I learned. Here's a straight from the horse's mouth...

This is a misunderstanding. KeepPower labels batteries for many people. The statement "KeepPower will take any cell and put a wrap around, it basically depends on what is ordered from the dealer" means that KeepPower takes whatever battery the dealer or maker SPECIFIES, and wraps it AS INSTRUCTED. It does not mean KeepPower wraps whatever batteries they get their hands on and sells them as something else.
We carry a large selection of KeepPower batteries and all the cells are as we specified, we have found no indication that KeepPower lies about what cells they place on the inside.
As for my thoughts on the "Cell and Protection made in Japan", it's a possibility a batch was mislabeled, but ultimately the dealer or person who SOLD you the batteries should have been aware of what was inside the cell since they specified it themselves.
We take the quality and legitimacy of the products we carry very seriously. If we find a manufacturer has lied about their products we do NOT sell them.
EDIT: I should clarify. There exists two different KeepPower 14500s, one with a Sanyo internal cell and one with a DLG internal cell, this is not a secret. They are not claimed to be the same product. Retailers specify which KP14500 they want.
This is Jane Li from KeepPower, i apologize for all the inconvenience but beg some explains:
1. We used wrong labels in few orders because of some stupid mistakes.
But now we promise this problem will never happen again.
We have made new labels to help you identify it easily, see below pictures:
2. Regarding batteries with this problem you already got, you should get what you pay for.
If you pay for a protected 14500 battery with DLG cell, the cell inside must be DLG and if you pay a price worth Sanyo cell, the cell will be absolutely genuine Sanyo.
KeepPower never intended to cheat any clients, we are not liar.
Actually we are pride ourselves on what we are doing, every battery manufactured within a quality standards framework and use only quality cells.
If you need future explain, please contact me at jane@keeppower.com.cn.
Thanks for your time.

I see nothing wrong then. The wallbuys listing does not say the internal battery was Sanyo. The picture did not show the cell was made in Japan. In fact this shows that whoever bought that battery got exactly what was advertised.

KeepPower makes batteries with Chinese AND Japan internal cells. They have different versions of each battery. The fact that they sell both types does not mean the lie about the internal cell. As I've said before, the dealer who is selling the batteries should know what the internal cell is since they SPECIFIED it themselves. I never said KeepPower never mislabeled a battery, I said KeepPower never sold me a battery and lied about what was inside. I asked for Sanyo cells I get Sanyo cells, I asked for DLG cells I get DLG cells. It's possible someone ordered DLG cells and they were mislabeled as Sanyo and they left that part out of their listing.

No I believe someone ordered Chinese cells and KP gave them Chinese cells, but they may have mislabeled the cell as Japanese. Then the person who sold it left that part out of the listing.
I am looking closely at the photos, show me where I am wrong.
IC does not stand for internal cell. IC stands for intelligent circuit, which is referring to the Seiko IC chips, made in Japan.
Thanks for your time.
But it is not a right way to resolve a problem if you only complain it.
If you had any trouble with our products, please contact the dealer, so we can help you.
You can also refer to my answer at #30.
Anyway, we will continue to work on quality batteries and wish you can trust KeepPower in the near future.
Thanks very much.
This will be my last post on the topic. The screenshots I have from Wallbuys says that the IC (intelligent circuit) was made in Japan, not that the cell was made in Japan. Therefore the fact that it had a DLG internal cell is completely correct.
If you bought a KP cell and expected a Sanyo internal cell, you would have to contact whoever sold it to you because they know exactly what is inside since they asked for it. I think it's a possibility that KeepPower mislabeled the cell they sent to the seller, but it is the seller's responsibility to have an accurate listing.
I can see the photo that shows a KP labeled as Japan but with a DLG internal cell, you would have to check the listing for that battery and see if it was advertised as Sanyo.
Hi Cat eyes,
Thanks for spend your precious vacation time for keeppower,it is great power for us keep providing quality illumination products.
In fact,we have 2 products for keeppower 14500 battery, one use cell made in China, and another by cell made in Japan.
We have clear product position and will put specifications clearly before customers make orders. As our products all have MOQ,so small quantity can not order from us directly,so we can say we never cheat you!
But I should admit some mistakes happened in label process. You know, not all workers in the production department can read English. And we have a stricter QC system now for models with different cells(a 840mAh sticker for sanyo and 800mAh sticker for DLG),we are improving!!!So I really beg for your kind concern.
Besides,We provide different prices for different products,so as our dealers, you can never expected a sanyo cell by paid price for DLG.
Hope you can still trust keeppower and never lose confidence for chinese goods.
For any other complains, you can send to us:lyla@keeppower.com.cn /jane@keeppower.com.cn/info@keeppower.com.cn
We will promise a satisfied reply, wrong labels are few in markets,we found out in the first place and make timely correction, but unfortunately it seems some batteries are still on the market.
You can send us email details about products、price and dealers,I think most of you paid for what worth.if you paid for sanyo cell and receive a chinese cell, not only you,we will argue for your rights, and we will stop sell products to any deceptive dealers.
