One mode clicky. I love it. Last week I took a look at one of my lights I haven’t touched in quite some years, a Tiablo A10G R2. About 250 lumens or so, with a very tight hotspot. Definitely pencil beam and not too practical. But I love it. No overheating, no step down, no parasitic drain, just on off.
Yeh, that’s what I was using as a thrower even before my first C8.
Got a few of monochrome red and green, ironically don’t think I have any '802s in white.
A hot XP-E2 or dedomed XP-G/-G2 would be killer, though. Smaller die, higher intensity, ie, way more throw.
But even that L2 was throwing pretty hard, like way down the block at the end.
One of my fave throwers at the time was a hot E2 at like 1.0A or 1.4A), in a C8. Little beastie was about 4500K, perfect light, and threw like… unno, some baseball guy who throws well.
A dedomed G or G2 could take lots more current despite the bigger chip size, so might be worth it to try.
I never thought to look for extra pills to fit the '802 back when Fasttech was alive. Balls…
excuse my ignorance…but what kind of drop-in is that. I have used lots of the P60 type drop-ins… but not the type you show in the video.
Probably just meant removable pill, like a P60 minus the reflector, vs star-/round-on-shelf.
