Want to build the best kill light I can and still be somewhat small and gun mountable. Is the HS-802 style light the best for this app. Can anyone explain what drivers and emitter I can use with a single 18650 and get awesome throw without excessive heat and battery drain. Also are the AR coated glass lenses worth having. BTW this needs to be a red led. All ideas and suggestions greatly appreciated……Doug
I like the aspherical lens lights (zoomie) the best. They only light up the area that you are looking at instead of flooding the area around it.
I have not owned the HS-802 before and dont know exactly how the beam is and how well it throws. I have heard it does a good job in the throw department. The only problem is finding lights with a red led in them unless you do the modding or have someone mod it for you.
Theres a guy on here that has been doing more experimenting with colored reflectored lights lately and done quite a few of the aspherical lights (zoomie). Hopefully he will join in on this conversation and add his opinions and comments.
I have modded 2 Small Sun C10’s one red xrc and one green xre. I have also done a red xpe in a light. Also installed a green xre in a Jacobs A60. On the green xre C10 I have with the assistance of a scope have done around 275 yards.
