Try having a bum left foot and (now) two arthritis-ridden knees! I haven’t run in years, but I walk when I can at nights (always as an excuse to test out lights).

When as teenager, it’s fast and easy to get better from a hurt. as aging, things get slower. We should take better care of ourselves.
walk more rusty joe, and show good people with your light
I had knee problems a while back, probably my own fault for not following the 10% weekly increase rule.
Lately I’ve been trying to get out more, and next week I want to get at least three runs in.
I share your frustration before. Ran through a trail with uneven terrain and hit a bend where my left foot snared a hare burrow. I recall my ankle twisting and popping with a loud sound. The pain was blinding and I could barely keep up straight. My son got off his bicycle placed his hand over the swelling ankle and prayed. It felt better somehow and we managed resumed course at a slower pace but it had swelled to double its size like a german pork knuckle by the time we got home. It turned blue black, hurt like mad and took a couple of weeks to subside.
Best treatment for swollen limbs/joints is RICE : Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation.
Sorry about your injury — but definitely DON’T try to run through it!
Alternate hot and cold therapy to increase blood flow and aid recovery.
Do an alternative excise: swimming is probably best with your injury. Or maybe biking or a stationary bike. This will help keep you in shape for when you’re ready to return to running.
