Iv been toying with the idea of building a light from “scratch” (buying all the components). I’m a few years into flashlights as a hobby and I am just getting the hang of all the terminology etc.
Long story short does anyone sell a kit light or like a Lego light if you will hah. If not how about a purchase list for a simple convoy c8+.

While not as fancy as some of the stuff that requires soldering, you can always pick up a P60 host, drop-in, and a battery or two. Kdlitker is still available from Kaidomain.
This is a good suggestion, you could get a couple of P60 shells and drivers and LEDs and make your own P60 dropins?
Else, we are spoilt nowadays for options on flashlights, many different host formats, LEDs, drivers etc are available "off the shelf’.
Have you swapped LEDs yet? Either swapped MCPB mounted or reflowed your own? I’d start here if you were looking to get into modding.
To make it worthwhile, you could swap in a “non-standard” LED into a confor C8+, maybe one of the Fireflylight ones?
I haven’t tried that yet but that’s an awesome idea. Swapping emitters seems like something I could undertake pretty easily. And your right some firefly emitters would look awesome in pretty much any light hah.
Any forums or YouTube’s you would push me in the direction of?
